Zelma Mae Brown of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, September 13, 1924 to the union of Thomas Arlie and Ollie Pearl (nee: Malone) Richardson at LaBelle, Missouri and left from this life on Sunday, May 02, 2010 at Rolla, Missouri at the age of 85 years. In November of 1938 Zelma was united in marriage to Doy Jones, Sr. and to this union two daughter was born, Shirley and Sharon Mae. In 1969 Zelma was united in marriage to Clyde Henry Brown and to this union one daughter was born, Wanda Lea. Zelma worked hard all of her life. She was employed at the Midway for several years, the shoe factory in Cuba (until it closed), a day care center where she took care of children ages six weeks to one year and she was a private Nanny for 13 years helping raise three children. In her younger years she grew a beautiful garden, canned, butchered her own pork and beef and even found a little time to dance. She was baptized Baptist many years ago and she enjoyed Country Western music. Zelma was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, step-mother, grandmother, great grandmother, step-grandmother, step great grandmother, step great-great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Arlie and Ollie é¢ééPearlé¢éé Richardson, both husbands Doy Jones, Sr. and Clyde Henry Brown, infant daughter Sharon Mae Jones, one sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and husband Julius Marrill, one brother and sister-in-law Robert and wife Ada Fern Richardson, one niece Zelma Marie Miller and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her two daughters Shirley and husband Bob Enke of Cuba, Wanda Lea and husband Terry Reeves of Cuba, step son Doy, Jr. and wife Irene Jones of Jerome, Missouri, five grandchildren, four step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, sister-in-laws Helen Brown, Velva McPherson, Mamie McCann and Gladys Smart, brother-in-law Everett Brown and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be held 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Don Martin officiating. Special music will be "I'll Never Walk Alone". Interment will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Mrs. Browné¢éés family.
