Willie Licklider

Willie Licklider of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Earl Everett Hicks and Katie Hicks (nee: Beuler) on May 17, 1917 in Pontiac, Missouri and she left from this life on Thursday, June 7, 2007 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 90 years and 20 days. Willie was united in marriage to Doris Cornell "D.C." Licklider on October 16, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two children were born Phillip and Deloris. Willie retired from St. John's Mercy Medical Center, Creve Coeur, Missouri after many loyal years in the Food Service Department. She truly enjoyed the outdoors in which she was able to fish, hunt and garden. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, knitting and quilting. Most importantly she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and cherished all of the times she spent with her family. Willie is preceded in death by her parents Earl Everett Hicks and Katie Hicks (nee: Beuler), husband Doris Cornell "D.C." Licklider, two sisters Wilma Hicks and Jessie Hicks. Those who are left to cherish her memory and to continue her legacy are her son Phillip and wife Judy Licklider of O'Fallon, Illinois; daughter Deloris Licklider of Hazelwood, Missouri; three grandchildren Robert and wife Nicole Licklider of Loves Park, Illinois, Phyllis and husband David Tague of Mt. Zion, Illinois and Jonathan and wife Jessica Licklider of Decatur, Illinois; six great-grandchildren; two sisters Opal Hammond of Woodward, Oklahoma and Ora Hodges of Springfield, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be conducted at the Licklider Cemetery in rural Cuba, Missouri on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Norman Cartwright, officiating. Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri is honored to be serving the Licklider family.
