William Richard "Dick" Gray, Sr. of Leasburg, Missouri was born on September 2, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri. He left from this life, to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri at the age of 79 years.
Dick retired after 28 years of dedicated service as a Maintenance Supervisor for National Park Service - Ozark National Scenic Riverway. He was a dedicated member of the C - Highway Full Gospel Church in Bourbon and loved attending services. He dearly loved reading his bible, which had become worn from the hours spent enjoying God's Word. He enjoyed hunting and was always looking for whatever was in season, deer, squirrel, rabbit, or quail, he loved it all! Dick enjoyed going to museums, the outdoors and gardening was something he liked to do, and he appreciated the harvest.
Dick is preceded in death by his mother Maude Irene Gray; foster mother Nettie Lutz; two children Michael Gray and Rebecca Ahlmeyer; two sisters Carol Ann Knight and Mary Gifford, one grandson David Michael Gray.
Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his four children Cathy Ann and husband Yuri Dobkin of Sullivan, Missouri, William Richard Gray, Jr. of Springfield, Missouri, David "Sam" and wife Jean Gray of Leasburg, Missouri, Patricia Marie and husband Pete Cain of Sullivan, Missouri; one foster sister Ina Mae Thompson of Crestwood, Missouri; special nephew Richard Thompson of Pacific, Missouri; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and 2 more soon to be, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 9:00 -11:00 a.m. at the C- Highway Full Gospel Church 3524 Highway C, Bourbon, Missouri.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 11:00 a.m. at the C- Highway Full Gospel Church with Pastor David Gargus, officiating.
Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
