William D. "Bill" Summers of Cuba, Missouri was born on December 21, 1944 in Bonne Terre, Missouri and left from this life on Thursday, April 10, 2008 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 63 years 3 months and 19 days. Bill was an Independent Sales Representative with Cornwell Tools and later Owned & Operated Mr. D's Liquor Store and Baseball Card Shop in Bolivar, Missouri. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially the water and fishing. He was a collector of many things and liked to follow sports. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Post #522. Bill is preceded in death by his step-mother Edna Summers and one brother Doyle Jacobs. Those who are left to celebrate his life and to continue his legacy are his two sons Ryan and wife Tonya Summers of Sparta, Missouri, Jeff and wife Rhea Ann Summers of Sullivan, Missouri; father Dale W. Summers of Cuba, Missouri; mother Lucille Jacobs (nee: Conway) of Belton, Missouri; four grandchildren Megan and Baily Summers of Sparta, Missouri, Samuel and Micah Summers of Sullivan, Missouri; six brothers Don and wife Tiny Summers of Nixa, Missouri; Rodney and wife Vicki Jacobs of Ozark, Missouri, Charles Jacobs of Kansas City, Missouri, Dennis and wife Gail Jacobs of Lufkin, Texas, Michael and wife Pam "Irene" Summers of Cuba, Missouri, Jerry Summers of Villa Ridge, Missouri; one sister Janet Montgomery of Belton, Missouri; two uncles Marvin Summers of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Jim and wife Sandy Conway of Arkansas, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation: Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Britton Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral: Monday, April 14, 2008 11:00 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home with Pastor Don Martin, officiating. Interment: Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is Honored to be serving the Summers family.
