William Charles 'Bill' Glaese Sr.

May 20, 1935 — March 8, 2012

William Charles "Bill" Glaese, Sr. of Springfield, Missouri formerly of Cuba was born Monday, May 20, 1935 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Otto and Ivy M. (nee: Glassey) Glaese and left from this life on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Texarkana, Texas at the age of 76 years. Bill was united in marriage to Emma Caroline Mullen on January 13, 1960 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cuba and to this union four children were born Chuck, Steven, Lori and Brian. Bill retired as a Sector Field Office Manager in November 1990 from the FAA after 34 years of dedicated service. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from March 1954 till March 1958. In his younger years he enjoyed playing golf, coaching his sons ball teams, hunting, fishing and working in the yard. What he always enjoyed most was spending time with family and friends. Bill was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Otto and Ivy Glaese, one son Brian Scott Glaese and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Emma Caroline Glaese of the home, three children William Charles "Chuck" Jr. and wife Deanna Glaese of Newport Richey, Florida, Steven A. and wife Rhonda Glaese of Butler, Missouri and Lori and husband Thomas Beason of Texarkana, Texas, six grandchildren Joshua Glaese, Autumn Glaese, Ashley Glaese, Ciara Baker, William "TJ" Beason and Joshua M. Glaese, six step grandchildren April, Rachel, Lilly, Luke, Connor and Dylan, two great grandchildren Bailee Glaese and Emma Jade Baker, three brothers David Glaese and friend Viola Dukes of Springfield, Missouri, Paul Glaese of Cuba and John and wife Carolyn Glaese of Huntsville, Alabama, mother-in-law Florence A. Mullen of Cuba, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 5 till 7 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service 1:00 PM Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor David Mueller officiating. Special music will be "How Great Thou Art", "Just As I Am" and "I Know My Redeemer Lives". Interment and prayers to follow at the Lick Creek Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in Bill's memory.
