William W. “Bill” Simms, III, of Klamath River, California, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 67. He was born on December 15, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri to William W. and Eva Pauline (Todd) Simms, II.
Bill was a graduate of Lafayette High School - Class of 1975 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Missouri – St. Louis in 1981. He worked in accounting and finance during his working career in Texas and St. Louis.
Known for his friendly and outgoing nature, Bill never hesitated to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He had a passion for being a grandpa and enjoying outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time at the beach. Traveling held a special place in his heart, particularly his cherished time spent in Florida and California.
After acquiring property and settling in the mountains of Klamath River, California until tragedy struck with the McKinney Fire in 2022. Despite losing everything except his truck and beloved dogs Ricco and Taz, Bill found solace amongst friends and family upon returning to Missouri.
Bill is survived by his two sons Kevin Simms of Hermann and Michael Simms and wife Jaime Simms of O’Fallon; three adorable grandchildren Kaydence, Everlee, and Easton Simms; his brothers Robert Simms and wife Sherry Simms of St. Charles and Stephen Simms and wife Yumiko Simms of Bonita Springs, Florida; his former wife and friend Beth Simms of Hermann; along with cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of friends.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday June 3, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home located at 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, Missouri followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., with interment at Bellerive Memorial Gardens in Creve Coeur.
