Wilford A. Slape

Wilford A. 郢邀邜Bill郢邀邝 Slape of Arnold, Missouri formerly of Cuba was born to the union of the late William S. and Randa Mary (Hobbs) Slape on January 9, 1926 in Washington Park, IL and left from this life on Thursday, July 23, 2009 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 83 years 6 months and 14 days. Bill retired from Laclede Gas Company in 1986 after 36 years of dedicated service. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Navy during WWII from June 1943 to August 1946. He was a member of American Legion Post #522 Cuba, MO and V.F.W. Post #3987 Sullivan, MO. Bill is preceded in death by his parents William S. and Randa Mary (Hobbs) Slape; two wives Eva M. (Mauk) Slape and Dorothy (Wahlig) Slape; four brothers William L., George, Earl and Kenneth Slape; one sister Helen Beshears; one granddaughter Jenny Jauernig. Those who are left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his two sons Ronald and wife Beverly Slape of Arnold, MO, Don and wife Marilyn Dungan of Pleasant View, TN; one daughter Laverne and husband George Jauernig of Ste. Genevieve, MO; seven grandchildren Stephanie Bledsoe of Charleston, MO, Patrick and Erin Slape of St. Louis, MO, George Jauernig of Arnold, MO, Kimberly Smith of Ste. Genevieve, MO, Christopher and Donnie Dungan of Pleasant View, TN; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two brothers Tom Slape of Cuba, MO and Troy Slape of Peoria, IL ; three sisters Virginia Jones and Linda Diaz both of Cuba, MO Geraldine Beshears of Caseyville, IL; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation: Sunday, July 26, 2009 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, MO. Funeral: Monday, July 27, 2009 11:00 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Lathum, officiating. Interment: New Hope Cemetery, Salem, MO. Memorials: Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
