Wanda L. Woodruff

Wanda L. Woodruff of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, was born Friday, July 27, 1928 at Steelville, Missouri to Jewell Harman and Hilda M. Miller and she went home to be with The Lord on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Columbia at the age of 89 years. Wanda proudly graduated from the Steelville High School in 1944. On June 3, 1949 Wanda was united in marriage to Dale Woodruff in Cuba and to this union two children were born; Beverly Gail and Paul Michael. Wanda and Dale were devout members of the Cuba United Methodist Church from 1958 till 2002 when they moved to Columbia, to be close to their daughter. Wanda was the church organist, choir director and a Sunday school teacher for many years. After moving to Columbia, they became members of the Trinity Presbyterian Church. Wanda spent her life taking care of her home and family. She taught herself how to sew and how to play the organ. She crocheted something for everyone and she was famous for her homemade chicken and dumplings. Her favorite thing to watch on TV was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball. From 1974 till 1984 Wanda was a store clerk for Cuba Rexall. Wanda enjoyed going to river, fishing and camping with her family. After the children were grown Wanda and Dale purchased a RV and traveled some during their retirement. What Wanda truly loved the most in life was being a wife, momma and grammie. Wanda was a loving daughter, wife, mom, grammie, great grammie, aunt, great aunt and friend of everyone she ever met. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Jewell Harman and Hilda M. Miller, her husband "the love of her life" Dale Woodruff, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives and many friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children; Beverly Skyles of Columbia, Missouri and Paul and wife JoAnne Woodruff of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, six treasured grandchildren; Dorrie and husband Shane Corbett of Cuba, Brian and wife Erin Skyles of Durango, Colorado, Emilee Skyles and fiancé Dana Osorno of Durango, Colorado, David and wife Stephanie Woodruff of Durango, Colorado, Raquel Woodruff of Shawnee Mission, Kansas and Ryan and wife Sarah Woodruff of Wichita, Kansas, six amazing great grandchildren; Micah Corbett and Jacob Corbett of Cuba, Mason Woodruff, Ezra Skyles, Finnley Woodruff and Alynna Skyles all of Durango, Colorado, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 12:00 till 2:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba. Special music will be "How Great Thou Art" and "Go Rest High on that Mountain". Interment and prayers will follow at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Honored to serve as pall bearers will be Brian Skyles, David Woodruff, Ryan Woodruff, Micah Corbett, Jacob Corbett, Shane Corbett, Leland Skyles and Dana Osorno. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 460 N Lindbergh Blvd, Saint Louis, MO 63141, in Wanda's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Wanda's family.
