Walter E. (Wallie) Strippgen passed away on May 8, 2016 in Longmont, Colorado. He was 93. Walt was born August 1, 1922 in Shrewsbury, Missouri. Walt served in World War II 1943-1949. He started his first medical repair business in 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri. He had his private pilot's license and flew his plane for business and pleasure until 2010. In 1970 Walt moved to Golden, Colorado, where he started his medical instrument business. Walt married Serene (Broberg) in 1972. Walt holds 11 surgical device patents, the last of which he received on his 90th birthday. He was a very prolific poet. In 1989 Walt and Serene moved to a beautiful farm west of Berthoud, Colorado. Walt is survived by his sister Evelyn (St. Louis, Missouri) and several nieces and nephews. Walt is preceded him in death are his parents Hugo and Martha (Sandau) Strippgen; wife Serene Strippgen; and one brother Robert Strippgen. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Lake Charles Memorial Park in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday, May 20 at 2:00 p.m. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Strippgen familly.
