Virginia Marie Shelton

Virginia Marie Shelton of Cuba, Missouri was born on December 1, 1923 in Bismarck, Missouri and left from this life on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at her home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 88. Virginia retired from Gibbs Care Center after several years of dedicated service. She enjoyed reading, bingo, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents Jesse Holt and Nancy (Campbell) Sellers; two children Carol Jean Lofton and Ronald Gene Turnbough; three grandchildren Eddie Brewster, Joseph Nicholson and Michael Lofton; two brothers Andrew Lee Holt and Jesse Gale Holt. Those who are left to cherish her memory and to continue her legacy are her six children Lee "Sonny" and wife Pauline Turnbough of Seymour, Missouri, Ruth Nicholson of Wortham, Missouri, Susan Pierson of Houston, Texas, Cheryl Pitts, Mike and wife Deborah Shelton, Tina Shelton all of Cuba, Missouri; one brother Curtis Holt of Cuba, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. As per her wishes cremation rites were accorded with inurnment at Boone Creek Cemetery, Licking, Missouri. Memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 2:00 p.m. at Virginia's home 803 West Spencer St. Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Shelton family
