Vicky Lynn Skidmore

May 2, 1971 — January 4, 2017

Vicky Lynn Skidmore of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, May 2, 1971 at Rolla, Missouri to the union of James Henry "Jim" and Verna Faye (nee: Dotson) Gruver and left from this life surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri at the young age of 45 years. Vicky graduated in 1989 from Cuba High School. She was the proud and loving mother of Ryan and Brandon. Vicky worked for a while at Hardee's, then the Cuba Senior Center and ended her working career at Versa Tag as a home picker. Vicky loved going to the Evangelical Holiness Church of Cuba and was a member there for many years. Vicky enjoyed going fishing, hunting, traveling and playing the piano. She would spend hours putting together 1000 piece puzzles, talking on the phone and looking at Facebook. What Vicky truly loved most in life was spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, niece, cousin and friend of everyone she ever met. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Vicky is preceded in death by her father Jim Gruver, sister Verna Christine "Chris" Smith and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her two loving sons Ryan Limberg and girlfriend Amber Bone of Potosi and Brandon Limberg of Bourbon, one amazing grandson Carson, mother Verna F. Gruver of Cuba, three brothers James Leon and wife Kathy Gruver, William A. "Billy" and wife Eutonna Gruver and Herman Wayne and wife Amy Gruver all of Cuba, brother-in-law Jay Smith of Cuba, aunts and uncles; Jack and wife Sharon Gruver of Cuba, Betty and husband Leroy Hoskins of Cuba, Shirley Gruver of De Soto, Missouri, Louise Lause of Cuba, Arlene Rayle of De Soto, Nellie Studdard of Pea Ridge, Missouri, Peggy Names of California, Connie and husband Alex Combs of Bourbon, Lula and husband Richard Doyle of Cuba, Rosalie and husband Allen Littrell of Owensville, Pam Simpson of St. James, Daniel and wife Kathy Dotson, Marcus and wife Shirley Dotson, Linda Dotson and Geri and husband Harry Schuster all of Cuba, special friend David Bailey, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 2:00 till 5:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with Bro. Don Mitchell officiating. Special music will be "Further Along" by Herman Gruver, "I'll Meet You on the Other Side of Jordan" by Bro. Don Turnbough and Bro. Don Mitchell and "It Will Be Worth It After All" by cd. Interment and prayers by Bro. John Ripley will follow at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba. Honored to serve as pall bears will be Brad Gruver, Dylan Gruver, Caleb Loucks, Drew Weems, Herman Gruver, Ryan Limberg, Kevin Skidmore and Wesley Adair. Memorial contributions may be made to Vicky's family to help with final expenses. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Vicky's family.
