Veronica Jo 'Ronnie' Sumner

Veronica J. "Ronnie" Sumner of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Anthony A. and Audrey J. (Carrigan) Martines on May 29, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Cuba Manor at the age of 75. Ronnie retired after working many years as a Property Manager in Denver, Colorado. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Church Choir, TOPS, Red Hat Ladies and the Lunch Bunch. She enjoyed singing, playing BINGO, dancing and spending time with family and friends. Ronnie is preceded in death by her parents Anthony A. and Audrey J. (Carrigan) Martines; husband William T. Sumner. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her two children Vince Cooper and friend Chris Gumeson of Hutcheson, Kansas, Cyndie and husband Franklin D. Blankenship of Dothan, Alabama; six step-children Cindy, Billy, Judy, Dawn, Jennifer and DeeDee; two grandchildren Jeremy and wife Melissa Cooper, John Cooper; four great-grandchildren MaRanda, Cheyene, Audrey and Kimberly; one sister Anita Magnuson of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers Joseph Martines of Troy, Alabama, Steven Martines of Wright City, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 730 Fleenor Rd. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Joe Ed Pederson, officiating. Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Cuba Senior Center. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Sumner family.
