Velma F. Edgar

Velma F. Edgar of Cuba was born Wednesday, January 10, 1917 at Wright County, Missouri to the union of William B. and Rena G. (Nee: Holt) Findley and left from this life on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Titusville, Florida at the age of 92 years 5 months and 15 days. Velma was united in marriage to Swithen Edgar at St. James, Missouri on May 4, 1933 and to this union two children were born Eugene and V. Marie. Velma spent her life taking care of her home and her family. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and sewing, but what she always loved most was being with and spending time with her family. Velma was a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Velma is preceded in death by her parents William and Rena Findley; husband Swithen Edgar; two brother Clifford and Thurman Findley and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her loving children Eugene "Gene" and wife Yvonne Edgar of Titusville, Florida and V. Marie Bryan of Hillsboro, Missouri, sister Glenus Cranmer, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 5 till 8 pm at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009 11:00 a.m. at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Edgar family.
