Thomas William 'Tom' Farris

Thomas William "Tom" Farris of Cuba, Missouri was born on June 6, 1959 in Cuba, Missouri and left from this life suddenly at his home on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the age of 55. Tom worked many years as a carpet installer, before becoming disabled. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a sports fan, golfing, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family and friends. Tom is preceded in death by his grandparents William and Georgia (Enloe) Farris, Carl Zink and Minnie Vaughn. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Sandra (Allen) Farris of Cuba, Missouri; parents Virginia "Tootie" (Zink) Farris of Cuba, Missouri, James and wife Rickie Farris of Eureka, Missouri; five children Tommy Farris, Jennifer and husband Rickey Smith, Jessica and husband Josh Gibson all of Independence, Missouri; Christopher, Casey and Chad Bruder all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters Shirley Vodanoff of Cuba, Missouri, Traci and husband Stephen Vasterling of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; one brother John and wife Andrea Farris of Warrenton, Missouri; mother-in-law Anna Allen of Cuba, Missouri; eight grandchildren, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 730 Fleenor Road, Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Joe Ed Pederson, officiating. In keeping with his wishes, Tom will be cremated following the funeral service. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Farris family.
