Thomas Lee Cockrell of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday, January 4, 1943 at Keokuk, Iowa to the union of Paul J. and Edith (nee: Quick) Cockrell and left from this life on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 66 years 1 month and 7 days. Tom was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Frieden on January 21, 1967 and to this union two sons were born Lance and Shawn. He graduated from the Marine Mechanic Institute (M.M.I.) in Daytona Beach, Florida. He worked as a truck driver and a machinist at a Tool & Dye Company before becoming disabled in 1984. Tom enjoyed New Age music, crafts and all of his cats. But what he enjoyed most was spending time with family and friends. Tom was a loving son, brother, husband, father, step father, grandfather, relative and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Edith Cockrell, wife Patricia Cockrell, sister Bernadine Cockrell, brother Jerry Cockrell and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy is his children; Lance Cockrell of Cuba, Shawn Cockrell of Phoenix, Arizona, Eric Kelly of St. Roberts, Missouri and Hope of the state of Iowa, three grandchildren Tristian Cockrell, Byrco and Bryan Kelly and other relatives and friends. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Cockrell family, where all service are private.
