Thomas "Tom" D. Sagel of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday, June 28, 1948 at Cuba, Missouri to the union of Timothy and Mary (nee: Birmingham) Sagel and left from this life on Saturday, January 19, 2008 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 21 days. Tom worked 33+ years as a labor for Lyn-Flex West in Owensville, Missouri. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for many years, a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus member of Cuba and was a Boy Scout Leader of many years in the Cuba area. Tom worked at many of the Holy Cross fund raisers and bar-b-qued for the Knights many times over the years. Tom enjoyed racing, floating the river on a hot sunny days, raising his own garden, hunting, fishing and raising Coon Dogs. Tom was a loving son, brother, brother in law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Tom is preceded in death by his father Timothy Sagel, one brother Bernard Sagel and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to mourn his passing but to treasure a life lived is his loving mother; Mary Sagel of Cuba, five brothers; Phillip and wife Lois Sagel of Newburg, Missouri, Albert and wife Betty Sagel of Cuba, Steve and wife Sue of the state of California, Paul Sagel and Edward and wife Terry Sagel all of Cuba, four sisters; Margaret Hoke of Bourbon, Theresa and husband Steve DePau of the state of North Dakota, Elizabeth "Betty" and husband Butch Garner of Jacksonville, Florida and Alice Rodriquez of St. Louis, Missouri, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation Monday, January 21, 2008 from 5 till 8 p.m. with a 7:00 pm Wake Service at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father James Finder as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Sagel family.
