Thelma Mae Lewis of Cuba, Missouri was born May 29, 1915 to the union of Lawrence H. and Laura L. (nee: Warnhoff) Lewis at Cuba, Missouri and left from this life on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 91 years 6 months and 27 days. Thelma worked as an inspector for the Cuba Shoe Company for 20+ years. Her parents Lawrence and Laura Lewis were the owner/ operators of Lewis Hardware that was located here in Cuba for many years. Thelma was a life time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuba, member of the Golden Mariners and the Order of the Easter Star. Thelma is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Laura Lewis, two brothers; Herbert and Beverly Lewis, two sisters; Laura Lewis and Loretta Taylor and a host of other relatives and friends. Those who are left to mourn her passing his her nephews Ronald and wife Lana Taylor of St. James, Missouri, and Albert Lewis of California, one niece Louise "Louanne" and husband Ken Carlson of Kortez, Colorado, great nieces, great nephews and friends. Visitation Wednesday, December 27th from 4 till 8 PM with a 7 PM Eastern Star service at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba. Funeral service 1:00 PM Thursday, December 28th at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba with Pastor Jerry Douglas officiating. Special songs for the service; Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art Burial at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Lewis family.
