Thelma D. Rowland

Thelma D. Rowland of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Virgil R. and Eula "Viola" (Richardson) Pratt on February 25, 1928 in Crawford County, Missouri and left from this life on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 83. Thelma was united in marriage to David Rowland on January 20, 1951 in Salem, Arkansas and to this union two children were born Larry and Connie. Thelma was a Librarian at the Bourbon Library for many years and was a member of the Slinderella's Group in Bourbon. She enjoyed reading, cooking and taking care of her family. Thelma is preceded in death by her parents Virgil R. and Eula "Viola" (Richardson) Pratt; husband David Rowland; one son Larry Rowland; one sister Rosalie Mayberry and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her daughter Connie and husband Michael Stephens of Leasburg, Missouri; two granddaughters Jennifer and husband John Lindsey of Columbia, Missouri, Sarah Stephens of Leasburg, Missouri; one great-grandson John David Lindsey; three brothers Curtis and wife Tommy Pratt of Camdenton, Missouri, Don and wife Wilma Pratt of St. Robert, Missouri, Gene and wife Norma Pratt of Perryville, Missouri; two sisters Mary Dye of Waynesville, Missouri, Virginia Slankard of Bourbon, Missouri; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 5-8 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 11:00 a.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crow Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Alzheimers Association. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is Honored to be serving the Rowland family.
