Stephen Earl Boeh

Stephen Earl Boeh of Cuba, Missouri was born September 6, 1949 at Wathena, Kansas to the union of Geneva (nee: Dinning) and Vincent Boeh and left from this life on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 62 years. Coach earned his B.S.Ed. from Missouri Western University and his M.S.Ed. from N.W.M.S.U. He began his basketball coaching career in Elwood, Kansas and served as the head basketball coach at Highland, Kansas, Effingham, Kansas, Weston, Missouri, Cuba, Missouri, Hannibal, Missouri, Sullivan, Missouri, Steelville, Missouri; and most recently at Bowling Green, Missouri prior to his retirement in June 2011, culminating with 465 game win record. Post retirement, he was serving as an assistant basketball coach at Pacific High School. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard of Kansas in 1977. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf at the Cuba Lakes Golf Course. He was the consummate outdoorsman. Love for and devotion to family dominated a legacy enhanced by a special gift for storytelling, a strong work ethic and a willingness to share all with others. Coach was a loving son, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents Geneva and Vincent Boeh and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Marilyn Boeh of Cuba, children Christopher and wife Dana Thompson of Liberty, Missouri, Stephanie and husband Don Donnelly of Nashville, Tennessee and Nathan Boeh of Cuba, four amazing grandchildren Taylor, Gage, Drew and Dillon, one sister Maribeth and husband Ken Lee of Smithville, Missouri, one brother John and wife Andre Boeh of St. Joseph, Missouri, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2011 from 5 till 8 PM at the Cuba High School Gymnasium, #1 Wildcat Drive, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Cuba High School Gymnasium, #1 Wildcat Drive, Cuba, Missouri. Special music will be "Amazing Grace" by Ron Cambron. Family and friends are honored to serve as pall bearers. Interment and prayers will follow at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society in Coach's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to serve Coach's family.
