Stella "Sue" King of Leasburg, Missouri was born Friday, December 11, 1942 to the union of Everett and Josephine (Nee: Brown) Woods. She left from this life, surrounded by family, on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at her home at the age of 76 years. Sue was united in marriage to James M. King on June 30, 1961 in Leasburg and to this union two children were born, Terry and Brenda. Sue was saved at a young age, she loved the Lord and was very active throughout the years at First Southern Baptist Church, Leasburg, teaching and leading the youth and women's classes. She enjoyed working inside as well as outside the home. When the weather was nice, she enjoyed being outside gardening, canning, cutting grass and planting flowers. In colder weather she enjoyed embroidering quilt blocks and doing word search puzzles. What she truly treasured most in life was her family and there is never a doubt as to how much she loved them. Sue was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, step great grandmother, aunt, great aunt and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Sue was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Josephine Woods, two brothers Walter and Bennie Woods, and one sister-in-law Virginia Woods and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving husband James King of the home, one son Terry and wife Sherry King of Leasburg, one daughter Brenda and husband Steve Stephens of Leasburg, five wonderful grandchildren; Jennifer and husband Josh Brooks of Bourbon, Stacey and husband Robert Payne of Kirksville, Missouri, Jamie and husband Bobby Allen of Lake St. Louis, David King of the United States Army, Carrie and husband Wade Lickteig of O'Fallon, Missouri, seven terrific great grandchildren; Brady, Nevaeh, Carter, Noah, Connor, Logan, Emmett and one on the way, two step great grandsons; Andy and Robby, one sister-in-law Phyllis Woods of Sullivan, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church, 1861 Highway H, Leasburg. Sue's Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 2:00 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church, 1861 Highway H, Leasburg with Pastor Terry King officiating. Interment and prayers will follow at the Cross Roads Cemetery, Leasburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church in Sue's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the King family.
