Shirley Mae (Albert) Williams, 93, of St. Peters, previously a long-time resident of Cuba and the Indian Hills Community, passed away, Sunday, March 2, 2025, in the comfort of her home.
On December 12, 1931, Shirley was born to the union of Reinhold George Albert Sr. & Emilie Earnestine (Koebele) in St. Louis, Missouri.
Shirley received her education from Cherryville High School and graduated Valedictorian of her class.
On December 29, 1951, Shirley was united in marriage to Henry “Hank” Williams Jr. in University City, Missouri.
Shirley was very active in the Indian Hills Community as well as a long-time parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church with her late husband Hank for nearly 30 years. She was also a member of the Altar Society and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary
She loved spending time outside, immersing herself in various outdoor activities such as playing a good round of golf. She also liked to angle a few fish from time to time. When she was looking for a more relaxed and carefree outdoor experience, Shirley loved taking a nice quiet walk and calming her mind in the quiet spaces of her flower garden. Most of all Shirley loved all the fun times that she got to have with her family and close friends. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reinhold Sr. & Emilie Albert; her husband, Henry “Hank” Williams Jr; her siblings, Mildred (William) Frey, May (Jack) Pipkin, Dorothy (William) Gravatt, Arthur “Art” (Nettie) Albert, Carol Jean (Cyrus) Dace, Reinhold “R.G.” (Fern) Albert, George (Sophia) Albert, Betty (Julius) Diefenbach, Mary Sparks.
Shirley is survived by her three children, Sharon Knoppe of St. Peters, Missouri, Thomas and wife Karen Williams of St. Louis, Missouri, Lawrence and wife Patti Williams of Maryland Heights, Missouri; two siblings, Robert Albert of St. Peters and Joan Slade of Davisville; six grandchildren Ashley and husband Matt Caldwell, Jessica, Sam and wife Kattie Coffey, Sarah, Ben and Zach Williams; four great-grandchildren Slena, Donnie, Liliana and Jacob; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Mizell Funeral Home, Cuba. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba with Fr. Tony Onyeihe as celebrant & Fr. James Finder as concelebrant. Interment will be at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Cuba.
