Shelley L. (Jennings) Bell

Shelley L. Bell, nee Jennings of Rolla, Missouri was born on Thursday, October 23, 1969, the youngest of three children, in Creve Coeur, MO, to Edward L. and Doras W. (Markley) Jennings. She passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at home at the age of 52 years and 3 days.

Shelley was raised in Webster Groves, MO and received most of her education there. In 1986 the family moved to their farm near Oak Hill, MO and finished her schooling, graduating from Cuba High School in 1988.

She was married after high school to Christopher Bell of Cuba but later parted ways. Shelley moved back to the farm to care for her father and mother until they passed. She then moved to Rolla where she connected with an old friend, Mike Dickey, who became her life partner. They were together until the time of her passing.

Shelley worked for over 30 years as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant in St. Louis, Pacific and Washington, but mostly for Dr. Steven Harrison in Rolla and the Fort Wood areas. She was known for her hard and caring work on children and always being on the job, no matter what.

She enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing on the Meramec River and known for her skill with a fly rod, riding horses and spending time on the farm with her dogs. She loved her family and friends and was always giving and helping others in need. She was a past member of Trinity Chapel.

Shelley is preceded in death by her parents Edward L. and Doras W. (Markley) Jennings, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends in the Cuba area.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her longtime companion Mike D. Dickey and Mike's mother, Mary Rosenberg and family of Rolla; two brothers Mike and wife Julie Jennings, John and wife Debbie Jennings all of Cuba; nieces and nephews, Roy and wife Nikki Jennings of Sullivan, Crystal and husband Jake Stallmann of New Haven, Jessica and Matt Westhoff of Washington, Karen and husband Ted Timmons of Cuba, and Brian Jennings of Jacksonville, Florida; great-nieces and nephew Haily Timmons, Kinsley and Nataly Westhoff, and Mark Jennings; special cousins, Betty DeLeo, Donna and Marvin Richardson, Keith Markley and many other cousins and friends and neighbors and her longtime companion, her dog Mick, of 15 years.

Shelley will be missed by all that knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Chapel 1631 Hwy. 19, Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Joe Bruno officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, MO, next to her father and mother.

All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
