Shelia May Koelling (Wright), 76, of Cuba, passed away, Friday, April 12, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.
On December 3, 1947, Shelia was born to the union of Virgil Wright and Mabel Sue (Sorrells) in St. Louis.
Shelia was a graduate from Lafayette High School.
On March 9, 1968, Shelia was united in marriage to Leon Koelling at the Sherman Baptist Church (Ellisville). They were blessed to be together for 56 years, loving each other more and more as the years went by.
Shelia and Leon were once members of the Defiance Methodist Church.
Along with being a devoted mother and wife, Shelia enjoyed buying and selling horses and saddles along with anything else, especially if bargaining was involved. Bargaining came naturally to her. She had many fun times going to flea markets, yard and garage sales. Her fondest memories could be the many times that her and her beloved husband, Leon would go out to eat. "It would be easier to list the places we haven't ate at" said best by Leon. Most of all, Shelia loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Shelia was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Mabel Sue Wright; one infant sister, Felicia Kay Wright.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Leon Koelling of Cuba; two sons, Lane Koelling and wife Barb of Cuba and Landon Koelling and wife Tracy of St. Clair; one daughter, Paula Wibberg and husband Max of Cuba; one brother, Glen Wright of Pacific; sister-in-law, Lynn Blankenship of Wentzville; nieces, Sherri Molitor and husband Tom of Marthasville, Stephanie Capstick and husband Jeff of Moscow Mills and Stacy Lorenz and husband Ryan of Moscow Mills; grandchildren, Lacy Ludwig and husband Jimmy of Cuba, Josey Licklider of Cuba, Kinsley Koelling of St. Clair and Justin Koelling of Utah; great-grandchildren, Kade and Judson; great-nieces; great-nephews; other relatives and many friends.
A Visitation for Shelia will be held, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home, Cuba. A Visitation prior to the Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 17, 2024, also at Mizell Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. till the time of the service at 12:00 Noon. Burial will take place at the Licklider Cemetery in Jakes Prairie.
