Ruth Fayon Callahan

Ruth Fayon Callahan of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Raymond Lebert and Stella M. (Smith) Barton on September 4, 1932 in Buick, Missouri and left from this life on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her home surrounded by family at the age of 79. Ruth was united in marriage to Marvin L. Callahan on November 12, 1949 in Salem, Missouri and to this union eight children were born ; Deloris, Gary, Shirley, Joyce, Barbara, Jan, Pam and Cindy. Ruth beside her husband helped serve the Lord for many years. She was a member of Center Ridge Pentecostal Church of Cherryville. She enjoyed ministering to people, singing, teaching Sunday School, reading, crossword puzzles, flowers, cleaning, ladies luncheons and spending time with her family. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Lebert and Stella M. (Smith) Barton; husband Rev. Marvin L. Callahan; two daughters Joyce Baker and Barbara Callahan; one granddaughter Karen Warren; one sister and three brothers and their spouses Bernice and husband John Hoffman, Vernon Barton, Otis and wife Betty Barton, Lloyd Barton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Doris Barton, Landis and wife Alvie Callahan, Arlis and wife Mabel Callahan, Clella and husband Roy Godbey, Stella Callahan, Bonnie and husband Glen England, Lois Beal, Delmar "Red" Martin. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her six children Deloris and husband Doug Warren of Chesterfield, Missouri, Gary Callahan of Cuba, Missouri, Shirley and husband Harrison Brown of Davisville, Missouri, Jan Callahan of Cuba, Missouri, Pam and husband William Huggins of Bourbon, Missouri, Cindy and husband Darrell Phipps of Union, Missouri; two sons-in-law Darrell Callahan of Steelville, Missouri, Dennis Baker of Ozark, Missouri; one brother James Barton of Dupo, Illinois; two sisters Betty and husband Ray Harris of St. Louis, Missouri, Elma and husband Thomas Harris of Viburnum, Missouri; one sister-in-law Lavada Martin of Steelville, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 4-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 11:00 a.m. at Center Ridge Pentecostal Church, Cherryville, Missouri with Pastor Harrison Brown, officiating. Interment will follow at Martin Cemetery. Honored to be serving as pallbearers Brad Brown, Jeremy Prince, Tim and Adam Baker, Brandon Harness, Steve Bridgeman, Jared Brasher and Brian DeClue. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Callahan family.
