Ruth Brummet of Cuba, Missouri formerly of St. Louis, Missouri was born to the union of John and Mary (Bongartz) Altman on Thursday, August 1, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at her home in Indian Hills at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 20 days. Ruth was united in marriage to Bill D. Brummet on October 3, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union three children were born Gary, Larry and Janine. Ruth retired from the YMCA as the Latch Key Coordinator and she also worked for several Day Care Centers in St. Louis. After moving to Indian Hills in Cuba she worked for St. Patrick's Catholic School in Rolla as a Teachers Aide. She was a parishioner at Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a member of the Indian Hills Garden Club. Her hobbies included planting flowers, gardening, fishing and square dancing. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents John and Mary (Bongartz) Altman and one half brother Louis Kannaka. Those who are left to cherish her memory and to continue her legacy is her husband Bill D. Brummet; two sons Gary and wife Kristal Brummet of Grove, Oklahoma and Larry Brummet of Hazelwood, Missouri; one daughter Janine and husband Doug Mallory of Cuba, Missouri; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Visitation: Friday, November 23, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral: Saturday, November 24, 2007 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. James Finder, officiating. Pallbearers: Larry and Gary Brummet, Jim Potts, Greg Sundwall, Doug Mallory, Mack Rodman, Carl J. Christiano and Rick Myer. Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
