Rose Margaret Gelven of Sullivan, Missouri formerly of Warrenton, Missouri was born to the union of Joseph and Margaret Minnie (Riechardt) Rosemann on April 28, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Sunday, December 30, 2007 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 80 years 8 months and 2 days. Rose was united in marriage to Nelson Gelven. Rose retired as a Lithographer from Letter Head and Check Corp. in St. Louis, Missouri after many years of service. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, painting, planting flowers in her garden and singing. She was a former parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Warrenton, Missouri. Rose is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Margaret M. Rosemann; husband Nelson Gelven; three brothers Bernard, Harold and Julius Rosemann; one sister Marie Chancellor; three brother-in-laws Ray Klien, John Winkeler and Charles Carmichael. Those who are left to celebrate a life lived are four sisters Frances and husband Melvin Keeven of Leasburg, Missouri, Dorothy Klien of Michigan, Theresa Winkeler of St. Louis, Missouri, Catherine Carmichael of Phoenix, Arizona; five brothers Walter and wife Lucille Rosemann of St. Charles, Missouri, Elmer and wife JoAnn Rosemann of Memphis, Tennessee, Joseph and wife Dorothy Rosemann of St. Louis, Missouri, Leroy and wife Doris Rosemann of Salem, Missouri and Clarence and wife Alice Rosemann of Bunker, Missouri; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation: Friday, January 4, 2008 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church 1098 Old Hwy. 66 Bourbon, Missouri 65441. Funeral Mass: Friday, January 4, 2008 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church 1098 Old Hwy. 66 Bourbon, Missouri with Rev. James Finder as the celebrant. Interment: Graveside service Friday, January 4, 2008 2:00 p.m. at Laurel Hills Memorial Gardens 2000 N. Pennsylvania Ave. St. Louis, Missouri 63133. In lieu of flowers masses are preferred. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, is honored to be serving the Gelven family.
