Rose Ann Gilliam

Rose Ann Gilliam (nee: Killeen) of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of the late Joseph A. and Mabel I. (Short) Killeen on August 11, 1925 at Cuba, Missouri and left from this life on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 84 years 1 month and 18 days. Rose was united in marriage to James A. Gilliam, Sr. on May 31, 1947 at Cuba, Missouri. Rose helped operate the Annex Cafe in Cuba for several years and later became a homemaker. She was a parishioner of Holy Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. In her spare time she enjoyed dancing, playing cards and yard sales. Rose is preceded in death by her parents Joseph A. and Mabel I. (Short) Killeen; husband James A. Gilliam, Sr.; one son William Joseph Gilliam; three sisters Virginia Spencer, Sarah Prickett and Mary Carey; four brothers Arthur, Charles, Paul and Edwin Killeen. Those who are left to cherish her memory and to continue her legacy are her son James A. and wife Debbie Gilliam, Jr. of Cuba, Missouri; daughter Joan Krulik of Cuba, Missouri; brother George Carey of Eureka, Missouri; sister Christine Gideon of Rolla, Missouri; six grandchildren Rhonda Ogden of Bourbon, Missouri, Donald Krulik, II of Cuba, Missouri, Michelle Gilliam of Crestwood, Missouri, Jaclyn, James III and Jilliann Gilliam all of Cuba, Missouri; two great-grandchildren Lauren Hernandez and Justin Gilliam; one great-grandson Dylan Hernandez; brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev James Finder as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials would be appreciated to Holy Cross School. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Gilliam family.
