Ronald Lee Arthur 'Ron' Hargrave

Ronald Lee Arthur Hargrave of Indian Hills in Cuba, Missouri was born on February 27, 1940 in Harvel, Illinois and left from this life on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 71. Ron served as a Police Officer for the University City, Missouri Police Dept. from 1968 to 1983. He Honorably served his Country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering with things, lottery tickets, yard sales, auctions, playing darts and cards, working crossword puzzles and being a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. Ron is preceded in death by his parents Henry Hargrave and Alma Goltz (nee: Bieber); one brother Maythan Hargrave. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Rita M. Hargrave (nee: Engelhard) of the home; three children Patricia and husband Daniel Neiner of St. Louis, Missouri, Connie and husband Kurt Laramie of St. Louis, Missouri, Brian and wife Mary Hargrave of Ponte Viedra, Florida; ten grandchildren Nicholas and Christopher Sladek, Eric Neiner, Brittany and husband Ryan Panchot, Jessica, Joseph & Kurtis Laramie, Katharine, Kristina & Kimberly Hargrave; one great-granddaughter Raelynn Olmsted; three sisters Vivian Swift of Alton, Missouri, Gertrude and husband Ron Spears of Louisiana, Missouri, Phyllis and husband Dave Bruch of Sikeston, Missouri; one aunt Betty West of Affton, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 11:00 a.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home. Interment will following with military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery 1:30 p.m. (please meet at the V.A. Admin. Office parking lot at 1:15 p.m.) If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Hargrave family.
