Ronald E. Byrd

Ronald E. Byrd of Leasburg, Missouri was born on Thursday, September 16, 1948, in Leasburg, Missouri to the union of James and Ruth (Hammond) Byrd. He left from this life at his home, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the age of 74.

Ron was united in marriage to Glenda Terrel on September 25, 1970, in Leasburg, Missouri. To this union two children were born, Michelle and Justin.

Ron retired from the United States Army, after forty-one years of honorable service and he also retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, after thirty-four years of dedicated service. He served as a member of the Leasburg Fire Department for many years.

In his spare time, Ron enjoyed an ice cold beer, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and riding his four wheeler. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents James and Ruth (Hammond) Byrd; on grandson Austin Hatton; four brothers Claude, Cordell, Richard and Harold “Benny” Byrd.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of fifty-two years Glenda Byrd of Leasburg; two children Michelle Hatton of Leasburg and Justin (Brandi) Byrd of Bourbon; two grandchildren Travis Hatton and Seth Byrd; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Shawn Terrel, officiating.

Inurnment with full military honors will follow at Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri.
