Robert J. "Bob" Voss

Robert J. “Bob” Voss, Sr. of Leasburg and formerly of Sullivan, Missouri was born on July 24, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Edwin A. and Anna (Greibing) Voss. He left this life on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the age of 92.

 

Bob was united in marriage to Kathleen Belmont on September 3, 1954, in Maywood, California. To this union four children were born John, Robert, Jeff and Nancy.

 

Bob honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. In 1959, Bob was hired by the City of Webster Groves to serve as a Firefighter. Through the years, he rose to the ranks to wear different colored helmets. The last helmet Bob was honored to wear, was the white Battalion Chief’s helmet. He would retire in 1999, after forty years of dedicated service to the community of Webster Groves.

 

Bob enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren.

 

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Edwin A. and Anna (Greibing) Voss; seven siblings Viola Vilinski, Howard Voss, Virginia Baker, Harold Voss, Albert Louis Voss, Walter Voss and Edward Voss.

 

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of sixty-nine years Kathleen Voss of Leasburg; John Voss and friend Melody Buehrle of Sullivan, Robert Voss of Sullivan, Jeff and wife Trish Voss of Leasburg, Nancy and husband Paul Pfeiffer of Labadie; four grandchildren Annalise and husband Chris Ansley of Springfield, Kristen and husband Thorsten Walter of Munich, Germany, Diana Pfeiffer and William Pfeiffer both of Labadie; two great-grandchildren Hudson and Salem; former daughter-in-law Patti Voss of Branson; one sister-in-law Janet VanZandt of Scottsdale, Arizona; niece, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, 2-4 p.m. at Belmont Vineyards 5870 Old Hwy. 66, Leasburg, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, 4:00 p.m. at Belmont Vineyards with Pastor Todd Holman, officiating.

Graveside Service with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, 11:30 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery 2900 Sheridan Rd. St. Louis, Missouri. Please meet in the Administrative Parking Lot at 11:15 a.m.
