Robert “Bob” Louis McArthur, 82, of Clarksburg, Missouri, previously of Cuba, Missouri, passed away, Friday, January 10, 2025, at Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri.
On November 21, 1942, Bob was born to the union of Walter McArthur and Anna (Kelloff) in Rolla, Missouri.
Bob received his education and graduated from Cuba High School in 1960.
After obtaining his education, Bob enlisted with the United States Navy. He would honorably and faithfully serve his country for 4 years.
He was united in marriage to Linda (Ellis) on October 9, 1970, at the Freewill Baptist Church in Cuba.
After his time in the Navy, Bob owned and operated his own mechanic shop. Bob would retire after 30 plus years. In his retirement, Bob would occasionally mow the manicured lawns of the Tipton Country Club.
Bob was a dedicated member of both the American Legion and the Cuba Ball Program of which he dedicated many years to coaching youth softball and baseball.
To say Bob loved sports would be an understatement. He ate, slept and breathed sports. Bob enjoyed playing all sports including softball, golf and bowling. When he wasn’t participating in sports, he was diligently keeping up with the current games and teams, his favorites being the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and Mizzou Sports. His most favorite teams of all to root on and cheer on, were those of his kids and grandchildren. Bob also enjoyed the outdoors and camping. He loved going to Bennet Springs and taking in the tranquil setting of a flowing river while trout fishing. Bob also enjoyed deer and rabbit hunting. Most of all Bob loved spending time with his family and friends, whether Linda and him were hosting or attending a fish fry, or simply attending a party or a wedding, of which he was sure to show off his dance moves. His mischievous smile and warm presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Anna Davis and Charles Davis; parents-in-law, Ben (Jewel) Ellis; brothers-in-law, Russell Ellis, Robert Blume & Larry Yates; special cousins, Harold Glassey & Zelma Glassey.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda McArthur; son, Bob (Heather) McArthur; daughter, Robyn (Zachary) Lamb; half-brother, Gary (Susan) Davis; sisters-in-law, Lucille Blume, Mae Yates & Cloetta Ellis; brother-in-law, Raymond (Shirley) Ellis; grandchildren, Jackson Lamb, Eli Lamb, Hunter McArthur, Micah McArthur & Ryleigh McArthur; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
