Robert D. "Bob" Clardy of Cuba, Missouri was born on Friday, November 3, 1933 to the union of Clarence E. and Louise (Green) Clardy and left from this life on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 83 years. Bob proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington when on 30 April 1951 the Army retired Robert D. Clardy from active duty due to injuries. Bob was a charter member of the Meramec Valley DAV Chapter #65. He was a devout member of the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church and you could find Bob at the Cuba Senior Center almost every day of the week. For the last thirty plus years Bob was known as the "Sewing Machine Repair Man". He enjoyed fishing, cooking and putting together puzzles. Bob planted a garden every spring and what he didn't can he would share with everyone. Bob was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Louise Clardy, one infant sister Bertha Marie Clardy and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of nearly forty years Rose M. Clardy of the home, one son David and wife Kathleen Clardy of Waterloo, Illinois, two daughters Barbara and husband Mike Robinson of Cuba, Cynthia and husband Dale Martin of Webster Groves, Missouri, ten grandchildren; Jennifer and husband Wayne Shearer, Amy Robinson, Josh Robinson, Diana and husband Kevin Paglusch, Janice Martin and friend Charles, Jacob Martin and friend Laura, Trinity Clardy and friend James, Chondell and husband Trey Villines, Andrew O'Meara and Carter O'Meara, twelve great grandchildren, two brothers Joe Clardy of Alton, Illinois and Harry Clardy of Las Vegas, Nevada and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 5:00 till 7:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, January 19th at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Martin as officiant. Special recorded music will be "Amazing Grace", "The Old Rugged Cross" and "I'll Fly Away". Interment, prayers and full military honors will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2017 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan, St. Louis, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Bob's family.
