Richard Lee Asplin

Richard Lee Asplin of Aurora, Missouri formerly of Leasburg, Missouri was born to the union of Leo and Ann (Bean) Asplin on September 21, 1943 at Flint, Michigan and left from this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Aurora, Missouri at the age of 66. Richard was self-employed Antique Dealer, he enjoyed trading and selling antiques. He also formerly owned and operated the Leasburg Mercantile Store in Leasburg and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards and being an avid Star Trek Fan. Richard is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Ann (Bean) Asplin; grandmother Madeline Bandy and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy is his wife Wanda Sue Asplin of Aurora, Missouri; two sons Ricky Jordan and Isaac Asplin; two daughters Velta and Denise; two step-sons Gregory Michael and Brian Paul Wecker of Aurora, Missouri; one brother James Asplin of Sullivan, Missouri; several grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2010 from 5 till 8 pm at the Britton Funeral Home, 904 W. Washington St., Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Britton Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating. Interment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery, Sullivan, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Asplin family.
