Raymond J. Breese of Cuba and formerly of Bourbon, Missouri was born to the union of John E. and Madge W. (Stevenson) Breese, Sr. on Monday, May 29, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri. He left from this life on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Evelyn's House, a beautiful Hospice Facility in Creve Coeur, Missouri at the age of 81 years.
Raymond grew up in Bourbon, Missouri and graduated from Bourbon High School. He along with his twin brother Ralph, entered the United States Army in 1957. Raymond honorably served his country in the United States Army and the brothers went on to serve in the United States Army Reserves. Raymond retired as a maintenance worker from Meramec State Park, after 21 years of dedicated service. He selflessly served his local community as volunteer firefighter and in the course of time he earned a promotion to serve as the Fire Chief for the Bourbon Fire Protection District. He was a charter member of the Sullivan Eagles F.O.E. No. 3781.
Raymond enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, and he loved spending time with his family.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents John E. and Madge W. (Stevenson) Breese Sr. one brother John Lee "Jack" and wife Billie Breese.
Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his twin brother Ralph and wife Joan Breese of Sullivan, Missouri; seven nieces and nephews Debbie Breese and Pam Weber both of Cuba, Missouri, John L. and wife Theresa Breese of St. James, Missouri, Teresa and husband Steve Massie of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jim and wife Sharon Breese of Westphalia, Missouri, Randy Breese of Marshfield, Missouri, Jennifer and husband Scott Gamble of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021 1:30 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Martin, officiating.
Interment with full military honors will follow at Bacon Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.
