Ralph Edward Bayless of Cuba was born to the union of Samuel and Martha E. "Nell" (Ferris) Bayless on February 13, 1941 in Cuba, Missouri and left from this life on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla at the age of 72. Ralph was united in marriage to JoAnn C. Hall on October 15, 1960 and to this union four children were born Kimberly, Gretchen, Edward and Gregory. Ralph retired as the Postmaster of the Steelville Post Office and had 31 years of dedicated service to the U.S. Postal Service. He was the current 2nd Ward Alderman for the City of Cuba, having served on the council since April of 1995. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Spending time with his family and friends was what he enjoyed most. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents; brother Sam Bayless, sister Diana Bishop and son-in-law Michael McDonald. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife JoAnn C. Bayless of Cuba; four children Kimberly Ann and husband Pat Uding of Libertyville, Illinois, Gretchen S. McDonald of Pelham, Alabama, Edward Ray and wife Elizabeth Bayless, Greg A. and wife Julie Bayless all of Cuba; seven grandchildren Beth Ann and Evan Uding, Kristen McDonald, Justin and Jerrid Bayless, Jacob and Jonathan Bayless; two great-grandchildren Brody and Tristan; one brother John and wife Joanne Bayless of Cuba, Missouri; one sister Donna Jacques of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 7:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Lesa M. Mizell, officiating. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to CASA or the New Life Evangelistic Center for the Homeless. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Bayless family.
