Phinis H. Deardeuff of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Elmer and Leona (Slavens) Deardeuff on Saturday, July 26, 1947 in Macks Creek, Missouri and left from this life on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 61 years 10 months and 8 days. Phinis served the Community of Cuba, Missouri starting on May 15, 1978 as a Patrolman with the Cuba Police Department and continued rising in the department to Lieutenant. He was assigned as Cuba Police Departments first full time Detective and retired on December 31, 2002. Phinis served as an educator, teaching firearm safety through the NRA Eddy Eagle Program, Hunter郢邀邙s Safety Classes through the Missouri Department of Conservation, and as Firearms Instructor with the Cuba Police Department. He was a member of The Upper Meramec Fur Trappers and Traders Club, the Cuba Historical Society and the Rivervalley Rod and Custom Car Club. He was a Lifetime member of the NRA and North American Hunting Club. Phinis, with his late wife Joyce, served many hours in different organizations and he contributed to our community through his position with the Cuba Police Department has made the City of Cuba, Missouri a better place for all to live. Phinis is preceded in death by his father Elmer Deardeuff; wife Joyce (Copling) Deardeuff and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his two daughters Sheila and husband Jamie Talburt of Payson, Illinois and Cheri and husband Ramiro Viramontes of Cuba, Missouri; mother Leona Sutton of St. James, Missouri; one sister Ella Hughes of Salem, Missouri; three brothers Carl and wife Nancy Deardeuff of Cuba, Missouri, Sherman and wife Covenly Deardeuff of Ashland, Missouri and Cecil and wife Shirley Deardeuff of St. James, Missouri; five grandchildren Ryan Deardeuff, Bobby Joe Smith, Cody Lee Deardeuff, Bobby Scott Hinson, Jr. and Chasity Taylor Hinson; mother-in-law Louise M. (Gruver) and husband Bill Lause of Cuba, Missouri; brother-in-law John and wife Tammy Copling of Cuba, Missouri; three sister-in-laws Judy Gunn of High Ridge, Missouri, Karen and husband Mike Garrison of Cuba, Missouri, Vicky and husband Allen Potter of High Ridge, Missouri; Nieces, Nephews, Great-nieces, Great-nephews, Cousins and Many Friends. Visitation: Sunday, June 7, 2009 6-9 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral: Monday, June 8, 2009 11:00 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Allen Teal, officiating. Interment: Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorials: Cuba Historical Society. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Deardeuff family.
