Phillip Lee Koester

Phillip Lee Koester of Mesquite, Texas, formerly of Steelville, Missouri was born Thursday, December 26, 1963 at Troy, Missouri to the union of Eugene and Renae (Nee: Brewer) Koester. He left from this life on Friday, November 24, 2017 in Ballwin, Missouri at the age of 53 years. Phil was a test lab technician at Benning Power Electronics, Richardson Texas. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics, especially pc's, and had been in the telecommunications power field throughout his career. He spent his free time watching Sci-Fi and fantasy series (Game of Thrones, DC & Marvel), sports (the Dallas Cowboys and the St. Louis Cardinals) and surfing the net. He loved his 2002 Trans-Am Firehawk. Phil was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Phil is preceded in death by his father Eugene Koester and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving mother Renae Cassidy of Steelville, two sisters Jeanne Reany of Belleville, Illinois and Vicki and husband Mark Cason of Cuba, two brothers Mark Koester of Wilmington, Delaware and Alan Koester of Ballwin, Missouri, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Mizell Funeral Home. Special recorded music will be "Forever Young", "Fortunate Son" and "The Unclouded Day". In keeping with Phil's wishes, he was cremated and his ashes will be inurned at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Phil's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Koester family.
