Perle E. Avery, Sr.

August 27, 1921 — June 6, 2008

Perle E. Avery, Sr. of Cuba, Missouri, was born Friday, August 27, 1921 at Steelville, Missouri to the union of Curtesy and Beulah (nee: Clonts) Avery and left from this life on Friday, June 06, 2008 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 86 years 9 months and 10 days. Perle proudly served in the United State Air Force during WW II. Perle was united in marriage to Lillian Loretta Forrester in November 1949 at Springtown, Missouri. Perle worked as truck driver for 25 years for Brown Shoe Company, in St. Louis, Missouri, and he drove a truck for a total of 39 years before he retired. After retirement he enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, bowling, playing shuffle board and his cat 郢邀邜Whitey郢邀邝 but what he always enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends. Perle was a founding member of the VFW Post 7147 of Cuba and a member of the American Legion Post of St. Clair. Perle was a loving son, brother, husband, father, step father, grandfather, great grandfather, great- great grandfather, uncle, great uncle and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parent Curtesy and Beulah Avery, his loving wife of 55 years Lillian Avery, one daughter Fern Bryant, one brother Bryan Avery and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to celebrate his life is his children: Linda Collier of Sullivan, Perle 郢邀邜Butch郢邀邝 Jr. and wife Carol Avery of Sullivan, Clarence Gene and wife Linda Avery of Leasburg, Claudia and husband Mike Dildine of St. Clair, three step children: Kay and husband Clete Andrews of Potosi, Lila Chapman of Park Hills and Dennis and wife Kathy Avery of Washington, Missouri, thirty two grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends. Visitation Sunday, May 8th from 4 till 8 PM at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service 5:30 PM Sunday, May 8th followed by an American Legion Service at 6:00 PM and a VFW service at 6:15 PM at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Avery family.
