Paul Stanley "Sonny" Baum of Salem, Missouri was born Tuesday, September 12, 1939 at Salem, Missouri to the union of Stanley Lee and Della Mae (nee: Maledy) Baum and left from this life on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Salem, Missouri at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 7 days. Paul "Sonny" worked for Amax Lead Mines from the 1970's until 1987 as a Mill Control Operator and from late 1987 until 2001 he worked for Wal-Mart, first at the Rolla Wal-Mart and he then retired from the Salem Wal-Mart store. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching all Professional and college sports and old western movies, but what he enjoyed most was spending time with family. Sonny was a loving son, father, brother, brother in law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his father Stanley Lee Baum, grandparents, aunts and uncles and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to mourn his passing but to treasure a life lived is his loving mother Della Mae Baum of Salem, one daugher Tiffany Baum of Carrollton, Missouri, one brother Robert and wife Charlotte Baum of Lebanon, Missouri, one nephew Curtis and wife Sandi Baum of Quincy, Illinois, one niece Melynnia and husband Jack Plakenhorn of Monroe, Washington, two great nieces; Kayla Baum of Cuba, Missouri and Brittney Plankenhorn of Monroe, Washington and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 from 1-3 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church 701 E. 3rd St. Salem, Missouri. Graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Salem, Missouri with Pastor Larry Nash and Lesa Mizell officiating Special music will be provided by Kayla Baum "When I Get To Where I'm Going". The Britton funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Baum family.
