Paul "Leroy" Hoskins of Leasburg, Missouri was born on Saturday, November 11, 1933 in Grove Springs, Missouri. He left from this life on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at his home at the age of 87 years.
Leroy was united in marriage to Betty (Gruver) Fortner on October 3, 1992 in Pacific, Missouri.
Leroy honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. During his service to his country, Leroy was awarded the United Nations Service Medal of Korea, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge and the National Defense Service Medal.
Leroy retired as an Electrical Engineer from the City of Springfield, Missouri. He attended the Country Church in Leasburg. He enjoyed cutting wood, tinkering with things, playing golf, going fishing and doing home renovations. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Leroy is preceded in death by his parents David Hoskins, Fletcher and Nellie (Ackman) Jones; two brothers Norman and Gail Eugene Helton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bill Lause, Granville Rayl, Nellie and husband Harold Studdard, Pete Gruver and James Gruver.
Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Betty (Gruver) Hoskins of Leasburg, Missouri; five children Kathy and husband Bill Carr of Crane, Missouri, Sandra and husband Brent Cotter of Stockton, Missouri, Shirley and husband Marcus Dotson of Leasburg, Missouri, Nancy and husband Carl Deardeuff of Cuba, Missouri, James Fortner of Pacific, Missouri; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Louise Lause of Cuba, Missouri, Arlene Rayl of DeSoto, Missouri, Sue Gruver and Verna Gruver both of Cuba, Missouri, Shirley Gruver of DeSoto, Missouri, Jack and wife Sharon Gruver of Cuba, Missouri; special nephew Donnie Helton of Shepherd, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Campbell, officiating.
Interment and military honors will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
