Olan Arthur North of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of William Arthur and Monty June (Cotton) North on November 9, 1908 in Clinton, Missouri and left from this life on Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 102. Olan was a Cowboy he loved training horses and working on the ranch. He was also a timberman, miner and loved the mountains. Olan is preceded in death by his parents William Arthur and Monte June (Cotton) North; first wife Hattie (Vidmar) North; second wife Cathy North; one daughter Judy Ann North; one brother Earl North and two infant brothers; four sisters Edna Bolles, Wilma Hough, Marie North, Rebecca North and one infant sister. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his two daughters Edna Mae and husband Jack McGinnis of Cuba, Missouri, June Marie Bolles of Chickasha, Oklahoma; two sons Roy North and Arthur Whinning both of Farmington, New Mexico; two step-daughters Maggie and husband Gene Mauzzy of Eckerd, Colorado, Mary Mochette of Edmond, Oklahoma; one step-son Larry and wife Shawna Dinngman of Cedar Ridge, Colorado; one brother James and wife Mary Lou North of Protin, Missouri; special friends Ross and wife Beth Allen of Hotchkiss, Colorado; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 4-6 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2010 1:00 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Steven Wick and Ross Allen, officiating. Interment will follow at North Liberty Cemetery, Lebanon, Missouri. Honored to serve as pallbearers were Brandon McGinnis, Corey McGinnis, Ross Allen, Jack McGinnis, Ray Morris and Frank Jost. Honorary pallbearers James North, Bob Hough and Jack Bollan. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to Friends of Mustangs c/o Sharon Mosset P.O.; Box 2771 Grand Junction, CO 81502. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the North family.
