Ocie J. Neff

Ocie J. Neff, a beloved resident of Fenton, Missouri, passed away on January 21, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on May 25, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of Ocie L. and Carol Y. (Poole) Neff.

Ocie had a distinguished career as an upholsterer in Granite City, Illinois, until a tragic accident led to his disability. He found joy in various pursuits, including his passion for NASCAR, caring for his fish aquarium and engaging in political discussions. Prior to his accident Ocie very much enjoyed hiking and riding motorcycles and dirt bikes. Above all, his first passion was the time he spent with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ocie L. Neff; his sister, Michelle Fitzgerald; and his grandparents, Ocie A. and Effie (Wilkinson) Neff.

Ocie leaves behind a loving family who will carry on his legacy. He is survived by his mother, Carol Y. (Poole) Neff of Fenton; six children: Elaine Knaebel of Kansas City, Breanna Fogerty of Ozark, Emily Fogerty of Springfield, Douglas Fogerty of Texas, and Ocie and Alia Fogerty, both of Springfield. He is also remembered by his seven siblings: Carol (David) Rathman of Pacific, Shannon Neff of Fenton, Tiffany (Steven) Jakul of Breese, IL, Robert (Han) Fitzgerald of St. Louis, Stephanie Neff of Carthage, and Douglas (Sarah) Neff of Barnhart. Additionally, he is survived by eight grandchildren, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a wide circle of friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Bob Coleman. Ocie will be laid to rest at Martin-Trask Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri.
