Noel Steven Hammock, Sr. of Cuba, Missouri was born July 10, 1947 in Lepanto, Arkansas to the union of Murray and Mary Etta (nee: Reeves) Hammock and left from this life on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Cuba Manor at the age of 69 years. During the 7th grade Noel's dad passed away and he had to leave school to help take care of the family and to work on the farm. Noel was an excellent chef and worked at many nursing homes, restaurants and even owned his own deli shop in Sullivan years ago. He would spend hours watching the cooking shows and then recreating the recipe at home. His lasagna was truly the best. Noel enjoyed family trips to Branson, he raised diamond doves and even has a pair of gold doves named Elvis and Pricilla. He made ceramics for years and everyone in the family got a ceramic Christmas tree. Noel was united in marriage to Cindy Sutton on February 19, 1994 at the Bible Baptist Church in Cuba. At the reception Noel showed everyone how to disco dance. They're the proud parents of Benjamin, Wesley and Caleb. Noel loved his family and spending time with them. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin, brother-in-law, son-in-law and friend of everyone he ever met. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Noel is preceded in death by his parent Murry and Mary Etta Reeves and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are is loving wife Cindy Hammock of the home, four sons Noel S. Hammock Jr. of Illinois, Benjamin "Ben" Hammock and friend Cidni Ehren of Cuba, Wesley Hammock of Cuba and Caleb Hammock of Cuba, two grandchildren Elizabeth Firenza of St. Charles and Chayce R. Hammock of Cuba, one great grandson Parker Firenza of St. Charles, one sister Mary and husband Joe Cox of Sullivan, one brother Benny and wife Janice Hammock of Sullivan, mother-in-law Terry Scott of Steelville, step mother-in-law Diana Sutton, in-laws Mitch and wife Christy Starks of Cuba, Mike and wife Deb Starks of Cuba and Sammy Starks of Cuba, one uncle Spec Reeves of Flint, Michigan, special friend and dance partner Dinah Graham of St. Louis, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 4:00 till 7:00 pm at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Special music will be "Daddy's Hands", "Will the Circle be Unbroken" and "Go Rest High on that Mountain". In lieu of flowers donation would be greatly appreciated to help Noel's family with final expenses. In keeping with Noel's wishes cremation will follow the funeral service. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Noel's family.
