Nellie Ann Monda

July 13, 1913 — January 7, 2008

Nellie Ann Monda of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, July 13, 1913 to the union of James and Mary (nee: Connell) Adair and left from this life on Monday, January 7, 2008 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 94 years 5 months and 25 days. Nellie was united in marriage to Walter E. Monda on December 28, 1927 at Rolla, Missouri and to this union seven children were born; Ivan, Buel, Roger, Shirley, Mary, Carol and Sharon. Nellie spent her life taking care of her family, but in her spare time she enjoyed quilting, growing African Violets, sewing and crocheting. Nellie had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba for over 65 years. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Nellie is preceded in death by one son Roger Monda, her parents; James and Mary Adair, one son in law; Jim Nelson, four brothers; Clarence, Austin, Arthur and Buck Adair, four sisters; Virginia Williams. Hazel Jones, Julia Smith and Dorothy and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to mourn her passing but to celebrate a life lived is her two sons; Ivan "Bud" Monda of Nashville, TN, Buel and wife Mary Monda of Sullivan, Missouri, four daughters; Shirley and husband Charles Kelley and Mary Hines all of St. Louis, Missouri, Carol Nelson of St. James, and Sharon and husband Vernon "Porky" White of Cuba, thirteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Wednesday, January 9th from 5 till 8 PM at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service 1 PM Thursday, January 10th at Britton Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Knight officiating. Special music for the service; Will the Circle be Unbroken and Amazing Grace. Serving as pall bears was Kevin White, Kenny Kelley, Vern Hines, Trent Nelson, Carl Monda and Brian White. Burial to follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Monda family.
