Myra Ann Briggs, a beloved resident of Cuba,, passed away on, March 31, 2024, at the age of 91 at Union Care Center in Union, Missouri. Born on December 28, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Gilbert and Bertha Grob, Mrs. Briggs led a life filled with love and devotion to her family.
Myra was married to Everett E. Briggs, II on February 1, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ferguson, Missouri. Their union was blessed with three children: Everett E. Briggs III, Kathleen, and Renee. Throughout her life, Myra worked diligently at various places including Southwestern Bell as a Telephone Operator, Famous-Barr, and the Cuba Post Office. She was an active member of several organizations including St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cuba VFW Post #7147 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Memorial Post #522 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Cuba Optimist Club.
Known for her nurturing spirit and kindness towards her loved ones, Myra enjoyed maintaining her home and cherishing moments with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in simple pleasures such as walking, reading, bowling, and bird watching.
Myra is preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Bertha Grob; husband Everett E. Briggs II; son Everett E. Briggs III; grandson JR Kitchen; sister-in-law Phyllis Briggs; son-in-law Dennis Klaeger; niece Connie Briggs; nephew John Allen Briggs.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories to be carried on by her daughters Kathleen (Nick Ginos) of Lake Ozark and Renee Klaeger of Cuba; three grandchildren Nicole (Tim Hebert) of Union, Chad (Rachel Klaeger) of Rolla, Hannah Kitchen of Springfield; four great-grandchildren Cadence Kitchen, Braden Hebert , Bryson Hebert ,and Bennett Hebert ; cousin Ken Steaten of Gray Summit; two brothers-in-law John Briggs of Troy and Gary (Juanita Briggs) of Troy; along with nieces nephews and numerous friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Martin, officiating.
Interment will follow at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
