Gary Lee Watt, of Cuba, Missouri, was born to the union of Ralph Herman and Miriam Frances (Field) Watt on July 16, 1943 in Reading, Pennsylvania and went to be with his Lord on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Saint Louis, Missouri at age 76.
He graduated from Pottstown Senior High School, Pottstown, PA in June 1961 and attended Penn State University in Wyomissing, PA.
Gary served his country for 20 years in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1982. He was assigned to many bases in the US and around the world. He served in the combat zone in Vietnam during the Vietnam war. He was honorably discharged (retired) from active service in 1982.
Following his military service, Gary continued supporting the Air Force in civilian corporation defense contract efforts in Goleta, California and Saint Louis, Missouri until his retirement.
He enjoyed music, roller skating, dancing and he danced on the American Band Stand. In his later years, he could be found putting together model airplanes and cars.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents; wife Pamela (Chumley) Watt; two daughters Gayle Lynn Young, and Dawn (Watt) Nichols.
Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Debbie Keogh-Watt of Cuba, MO; daughter Ashley Watt Fletcher of Saint Charles, MO; son John Anthony Young of Myrtle Beach, SC; step-daughter Mackenzie Keogh Pfeiffer and husband Jason of Cuba, MO; step-son Stephen Keogh and wife Jessica of Cuba, MO; brother Richard and wife Lynda Watt of Santa Paula, CA; sister Gail (Watt) and husband Richard Plank of Fleetwood, PA; Aunt Fern Kennedy of New Jersey; fourteen grandchildren Lyra, Hendrix, Mason, Dylan, Paxton, Maxwell, Ryan, Addison, Angel, Raven, Diamond, Jackara, Jayvon and Tamara; brothers-in-law Steve Kamler of Springfield, MO, Mat Kamler of Rolla, MO; sister-in-law Cristy Kruse and husband Ed of Cuba, MO; five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends throughout the US.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cuba with Pastor Jim Moore, officiating.
Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with full military honors.
A luncheon will be provided for all, at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
