Mia Gaye Livesay-hancock

Mia G. Livesay-Hancock of Barnhart, Missouri formerly of Cuba area was born March 28, 1969 at Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and left from this life suddenly on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Jefferson County, Missouri at the age of 44. Mia had been an LPN for many years. She had worked for Dr. Halasgo in Steelville during the 1980's, Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Cuba Manor, a nursing home in Salem, Missouri and St. Louis University. As a nurse Mia career covered doctor's office, hospitals, nursing homes and secretarial duties. She enjoyed working in the garden, fishing, camping, playing in the river, watching hockey and race cars. She had been a shoe model for several years and traveled to Vegas for the big shoe shows. Mia always had a dog; they were like her second child and "Pretty" were her last pet. Mia loved her family and being with them. In the last several years she was unable to attend all the family events and though she may not have been there, that is truly the only place she wanted to be, with family. Mia was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, niece, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, daughter-in-law, granddaughter-in-law, step mother and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by grandparents and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her husband Tommy Hancock of Barnhart, one son Nick and wife Melysa Warren of Houston, Texas, step daughter Alexis Hancock of St. Louis, Missouri, parents Jerry and Charlotte Livesay of Leasburg and Faye Newsome of Luray, Virginia, six brothers and sisters; Kevin and wife Misty Livesay of Cuba, Ken and wife Melissa Quinton of Rolla, Tina and husband Bob Cunningham of Cuba, Lynn and husband Thomas Minke of Luray, Virginia, Angela Newsome and Joseph Newsome of North Carolina, mother-in-law Brinda and husband Rick Androvandi of Sesser, Illinois, grandparents-in-law Elijah and Marlene Bennett of Imperial, Missouri, aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 2:00 till 5:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington St., Cuba, MO. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013 5:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Harrison Brown, officiating. Special music will be "Wedding Day" and "Amazing Grace". Interment and prayers will be held 10:00 AM Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Steelville City Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home for final expenses. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Livesay family.
