Melvin J. Kamler

Melvin J. Kamler of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Joe and Ida E. (Enloe) Kamler on Wednesday, May 10, 1933 in Franklin County, Missouri. He left from this life on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Evelyn's House in Creve Coeur, Missouri at the age of 86 years.

Melvin was united in marriage to Barbara J. Dunton on March 28, 1953 in Arkansas and to this union four children were born; Debbie, Steve, Cristy and Matt. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage, prior to her passing on June 15, 2005. On December 20, 2007 Melvin was united in marriage to Noma (Graham) Conway in Cuba, Missouri.

Melvin was the longtime owner and operator of the former Glo-Lite Company in Cuba. Melvin worked in the HVAC business for forty plus years before he retired. He was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Cuba for many years and he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

He was a devoted Papa and family man; his family meant the world to him. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, taking care of his cattle, fishing and camping.

Melvin was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, stepfather, step father-in-law, uncle, great uncle, brother-in-law and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara J. "Bobbie" Kamler; two brothers, Curtis and John D. Kamler; two sisters Georgetta Shasserre and Marie Klouzek and other family and friends.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Noma Kamler of the home; four children, Debbie and husband Gary Watt of Cuba, Missouri, Steve Kamler of Springfield, Missouri, Cristy and husband Edward Kruse of Cuba, Missouri, Matt Kamler of Rolla, Missouri; two step-children Diana and husband Mike Eskra of Cuba, Missouri, Jay and wife Marti Conway of Marthasville, Missouri; one sister Frances and husband Hugh McNary of Union, Missouri; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday,September 13, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Cuba, 606 Myrtle Avenue, Cuba with Pastor Hugh McNary, Pastor Jesse Parrott and Pastor Woodrow Martin, officiating.

Interment and final prayers will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 in Melvin's memory.
