Mary Ann Tennyson of Cuba, Missouri was born on March 25, 1946, in Gary, Indiana to Lawrence and Marie (Abraham) Schiesser. She left this life on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, Missouri at the age of 78.
Mary Ann Schiesser was united in marriage to Virgil L. Hoshaw on November 16, 1968. Together they had three children: Kevin, Stacy and Todd. Virgil passed away on September 15, 1986. Mary Ann would later be united in marriage to James A. Tennyson on November 26, 1988.
Mary Ann lived in Cuba for over 45 years and in that time worked at Mid America Shoe Co, Peoples Bank, and finished her career in the accounting department at Versa-Tags, Inc when she retired in 2012. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a member of the Tri-C Club. Mary Ann was devoted to her family and she especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Mary Ann loved to travel and explore new places including Ireland, Japan, Mexico, and many Caribbean islands.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Marie (Abraham) Schiesser; two husbands Virgil L. Hoshaw and James A. Tennyson.
Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her four children Kevin and wife Debbie Hoshaw of Kirksville, Stacy Hoshaw of St. Peters, Todd and wife Jenny Hoshaw of St. Peters, Jamie and wife Christina Tennyson of St. Peters; six grandchildren Bennett Hoshaw, Chase and Cassie Tennyson, Malachi Hoshaw, Ryan and Sarah Hoshaw; siblings David and wife Nancy Schiesser of Crown Point, Indiana, Richard and wife Ann Schiesser of Henderson, Nevada, Nancy and husband Scott Carey of Lakeside, Arizona; brother-in-law Jerry and wife Sharon Tennyson of Rolla; sister-in-law Ellen Bowman of Kalkaska, Michigan; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church 415 W. School Ave. Cuba, Missouri.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
