Mary Etta Bridgeman of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday, February 17, 1919 at Booneville, Missouri to the union of Oscar Gensler and Josie Ann (Nee: Crawford) Gensler and left from this life on Friday, May 18, 2007 at St. James, Missouri at the age of 88 years 3 months and 1 day. Mary Etta was united in marriage to Jess Albert Bridgeman on September 8, 1934 at Booneville, Missouri and to this union eight children were born; Albert, Harold, Joe, Della, Louise, Etta, Gladene and Geraldine. Mary Etta became a Christian 5o+ years ago at the Pearidge Church in Washington County. Mary Etta spent her life doing what she loved most, taking care of her children and grandchildren, but in her spare time she enjoyed sewing, making quilts, embroidering, gardening (vegetables and flowers), canning, going to auctions, yard sales and the family all getting together during the holidays, so she could do lots of cooking. Mary Etta was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister in law, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Josie Ann Gensler, her husband Jess Bridgeman, two son-in-laws; James Reeves and Jessie Gann, two grandsons; Keith and Tony Bridgeman, one brother Bill Gensler, one sister Edna Bridgeman and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to mourn her passing but to celebrate a life lived are her five daughters; Della Reeves, Louise and husband Claude Smith, Etta and husband Herman Rogers, Gladene Ware and Geraldine Gann all of Cuba, Missouri, three sons; Albert and wife Dora, Harold and Joe and wife Dorothy Bridgeman all of Cuba, one brother Joe and wife Wilda Gensler of Potosi, Missouri, one sister Maude Merritt of Bourbon, Missouri, sixteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation Sunday, May 20th from 4 to 8 PM at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba. Funeral service 11 AM Monday, May 21st with Herman Rogers officiating. Serving as pallbearers; Tim & Lee Gann, Tom, TJ and Danny Rogers, Gary Reeves, Richard & Mark Bridgeman. Burial at Meramec Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Bridgeman family.
